Prohibited content
Child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence, material that infringes copyright or trademark, and content unlawful in the jurisdiction hosting it. CSAM is reported to the relevant authority without notice.
Email and messaging
No unsolicited bulk email, purchased lists, or mail sent through open relays. Marketing mail requires demonstrable opt-in and a working unsubscribe. Shared plans are limited to published hourly send rates.
Network conduct
No port scanning, denial-of-service participation, spoofing, credential stuffing, proxying of anonymous traffic, or attempts to access accounts you do not own — including on our own infrastructure.
Resource use on shared plans
Your plan’s published CPU, memory, inode and process limits are the boundary. Sustained overuse gets an email and a week to resolve. Cryptocurrency mining, public file-dumps, streaming media libraries and torrent trackers are not permitted on shared plans.
Security obligations
Keep applications patched. A compromised site must be cleaned or taken offline promptly; we will help, and we may isolate a site that is actively attacking others.
Enforcement
First response is normally a notice with a remediation window. Severe or repeat breaches lead to suspension without notice. Appeals go to abuse [at] iplushost [dot] com and are reviewed by a human.
